Come along with HUTS as we take a deep dive into Mattituck, NY! This eastern Long Island town is located within Southold and was settled in 1662. Originally known for its farmland, this oceanside spot has grown popular because of its beaches and small-town feel.

While not technically a place to grab a meal, North Fork Doughnut Co. had to make it on our list because their doughnuts satisfy every craving. While some treats come stacked high with bacon bits, others may have marshmallows and graham crackers on top! And of course, there’s always a regular sprinkled doughnut for those who prefer the classics. Nestled on Main Road, this bakery is a must-visit when in Mattituck.
Stop by the Harbes Family Farm located right in Mattituck on Sound Ave. With the farm’s three businesses, the Family Farm, the Barnyard Adventure, and the Vineyard, there’s truly something for everyone here. Open to visitors from May through October, the Harbes Family Farm offers fresh produce and flowers, obstacle courses and petting zoos, and wine tasting.
To soak up the culture and history of Mattituck, we recommend making a stop at the Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society and Museum. The museum includes two historic homes, which belonged to descendants of Henry Tuthill, the first Tuthill to arrive in New York from England in 1648. Plus, the museum is also home to a 1760 schoolhouse, milk house, 1846 schoolhouse, and so much more. Rich in local history, the Mattituck-Laurel Historical Society and Museum is the best place to learn about the area
